Getting started
What is the Suu app?
Suu is an AI-powered water tracking and hydration app for iOS and Android. A behavioral layer called the Adaptive Hydration Brain learns how you drink and personalizes your daily goal, notifications and a dynamic hydration plan. It works in 4 languages: English, Arabic, Turkish and Russian.
Is the Suu app free?
Yes. Suu's core water tracking features are free on both iOS and Android. Premium adds ad-free use, PDF and CSV reports and advanced charts, with a 3-day free trial and monthly or yearly plans.
Which devices does Suu work on?
Suu runs on iPhone (iOS), Android phones, Apple Watch and Wear OS, and supports Fitbit, Garmin, Samsung and Mi Band data through Apple Health and Health Connect.
How do I download Suu?
Download Suu free from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). You can also start instantly in Guest Mode without signing up.
What languages does Suu support?
Suu is available in 4 languages: English, Arabic (with full right-to-left support), Turkish and Russian, including native drink names and accessibility for VoiceOver and TalkBack.
Your goal & the science
How is my daily water goal calculated?
Suu starts from about weight (kg) × 35 ml, then applies activity, age, sex and BMI factors, subtracts roughly 25% you get from food, adds for pregnancy or breastfeeding, and clamps the result between 1,500 and 4,000 ml. The goal recalculates whenever your profile changes. This is general guidance, not medical advice.
How much water should I drink per day?
For most adults a common range is about 2–2.5 liters, but weight (kg) × 30–35 ml is more accurate. Suu personalizes this from your weight, activity, age, sex and BMI. General guidance, not medical advice.
What is the Adaptive Hydration Brain?
It is Suu's behavioral AI layer. While you use the app, it builds a profile of your tempo, pace, drink variety, consistency and activity, then adapts 24 decision areas such as notification rhythm and coaching depth. Personalization starts on day 3; new users always get a safe default.
What is the Suu Index?
The Suu Index is a 0–100 daily hydration score built from completion (50%), regularity (20%), timing (20%) and over-intake (10%), with labels from Excellent to Weak. It measures hydration quality, not just quantity.
Drinks & the hydration model
How many drinks can I track in Suu?
Suu includes 91 drinks across 12 categories, plus Starbucks, Greenwich and Nevada brand menus. Each drink has a real hydration factor, so coffee, tea, juice and more are counted with their true contribution.
Does coffee or tea count toward my hydration?
Yes. Suu uses a compound hydration model: water counts 1.0, herbal tea 0.9, coffee 0.8, energy drinks 0.5 and alcohol −0.5. Caffeine itself is not penalized; only sugar and alcohol add an extra-water need.
How do the smart notifications work?
Suu learns your drinking pace over 14 days and sends contextual reminders such as "You're at 32% — 2,400 ml to go" instead of generic alerts. When you reach your goal, the remaining reminders for the day are cancelled.
Integrations & devices
Can I sync water with Apple Health?
Yes. On iOS, Suu syncs two-way with Apple HealthKit for water, steps, active energy and workouts. On Android it uses Health Connect / Google Fit. Sync runs automatically about every 15 minutes.
Is there an iPhone widget and Dynamic Island support?
Yes. Suu offers Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets in 3 sizes, plus a pace-aware Dynamic Island and Live Activities that show whether you're ahead, on time or behind your personal rhythm — not just a raw counter.
Can I track water with Siri or voice commands?
Yes. You can add water with Siri Shortcuts and with in-app custom voice triggers (for example "coffee" → 200 ml), in all 4 languages.
Social, leagues & comparisons
What is the league system and how does it work?
Leagues let you run a weekly water-drinking competition with up to 4 friends. There's a leaderboard, goal-completion percentage and streak rivalry, and iOS and Android users can compete in the same league.
Is Suu better than WaterMinder or Hydro Coach?
Suu adds things those apps don't have: an Adaptive Hydration Brain, the Suu Index, social leagues, 91 drinks, a pace-aware Dynamic Island, a virtual pet, PDF/CSV export and 4 languages including Arabic. WaterMinder and Hydro Coach are strong on basics; Suu focuses on personalization and motivation. See the full feature comparison.
Privacy, data & premium
Will I lose my data?
No. Suu syncs to the cloud and works offline with background sync, so your history is preserved across devices. You can sign in with Apple, Google or email, and securely delete your account at any time.
How much does Suu Premium cost and is there a free trial?
Suu Premium offers a 3-day free trial, then monthly or yearly plans (managed via RevenueCat through the App Store or Google Play). Premium removes ads and unlocks PDF/CSV reports and advanced 7/30/365-day charts.
Who developed Suu?
Suu was developed by Furkan Mert Fındıklı, an indie developer from Istanbul, Turkey, specializing in Flutter and HealthKit. Content and localization are supported by the wider Suu team.
